There are four buttons on the right hand side of the unit - one is used to select the room or aquarium temperature, one displays the minimum or maximum temperature, the third button sets the alarm and the last button lights the display. The water temperature sensor is connected to the thermometer by approximately 3m of lead. A suction cap attached to the sensor holds it in position within the tank.
